Ski-ing's hidden gem

I am reluctantly writing this as I didn't want anyone else to find out about the Berghotel, it really is a hidden gem and the website does not do it justice. This is our 3rd year in a row for February half term. The family friendly hotel just over 2 hours from Venice Airport is very welcoming and we are on first name terms with a lot of the staff now and the owner, Walter. The food is superb, large indoor / outdoor pool, upscale spa (the pedicure from Desiree is unrivalled in the UK even my husband had one) with 7 different saunas.

You can ski in / out from the hotel and there are full size lockers and drying areas for all your kit with complimentary tea and the best home made cake on your return. The bedrooms are a good size and well equppied we usually have a familiy room. There is a good selection of quality wine both local and form further afield all reasonably priced.

In the immediate vicinity (100 m) is the ski rental Sportpoint (including carry service), further at the valley station of the Helmbahn the ski rental of the ski school Sextner Dolomiten (especially in combination with ski lessons) and next door to the ski rental Sport Kiniger. The entire ski, board, and cross-country skiing equipment is awarded.

The ski school Sexten Dolomites is located at the valley station of the Helmbahn (about 1 km) and offers professional support in the areas of skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing - both for adults and especially for children. For children there is also the possibility to receive half and full day lessons. In addition, the ski school has a state-of-the-art ski rental.

At the 3 Zinnen Dolomites ski resort family time becomes truly special, because what could be more beautiful than children's sparkling eyes? On the Rotwand, you can visit the deer herd, take a souvenir photo with the giant snowmen, or experience 5km of tobogganing fun. And right in the center of Sexten, the Waldheim lifts are the ideal place for first attempts on skis. Snow tunnels, moguls, and magic carpets await the little skiers. Just a few kilometers further on, the Haunold can be reached directly from Innichen. A kids' ski cross course, toboggan run, and the "Giant Kingdom of Haunold" circular trail make Innichen's local mountain a unique family experience. The family experience in the Three Peaks Dolomites region is rounded off with various valley ski lifts in Toblach and Prags.
