Yes, it’s true. Just as in summer you can discover the natural landscape of the Italian Dolomites during hikes leaving directly from the hotel, in winter too your adventure on skis begins as soon as you step out the door. So put on your helmet, your jacket and your skis. And step onto the track that passes right in front of our ski hotel in the Dolomites. The car? From the hotel you can quickly and easily reach Monte Elmo, in the Ski Area of the Sesto Dolomites. Now the connection is even better than before – no more useless effort! and from this year the steep part to come home - the Kristler hang - got a red variant and not anymore a black slope.

Already last year, the old Helm-Sexten cable car was replaced by the new 10-passenger premium cable car "HELMJET Sexten". The access point to Sexten has been greatly upgraded: the premium gondola offers the maximum comfort and three times the transport capacity of the old cable car and makes hustle and bustle and long queues a thing of the past.

I am reluctantly writing this as I didn't want anyone else to find out about the Berghotel, it really is a hidden gem and the website does not do it justice. This is our 3rd year in a row for February half term. The family friendly hotel just over 2 hours from Venice Airport is very welcoming and we are on first name terms with a lot of the staff now and the owner, Walter. The food is superb, large indoor / outdoor pool, upscale spa (the pedicure from Desiree is unrivalled in the UK even my husband had one) with 7 different saunas.
You can ski in / out from the hotel and there are full size lockers and drying areas for all your kit with complimentary tea and the best home made cake on your return. The bedrooms are a good size and well equppied we usually have a familiy room. There is a good selection of quality wine both local and form further afield all reasonably priced.

A dream that has been cherished for ten years has come true: From the 2014/15 ski season, two eight-person cable cars will link the ski areas of Monte Elmo and Croda Rossa. Skiing at Sesto in the Dolomites is enhanced with another attraction. In greater detail, these are two ultra-modern lift systems and two runs with different characteristics: "Tre Cime" (length 2,355 m) and "Orto del Toro", with a total length of 1,354 m. The network of runs in the region thus reaches a total of 90 kilometres. But that’s not all. In the immediate vicinity (100 m) is the ski rental Sportpoint (including carry service), further at the valley station of the Helmbahn the ski rental of the ski school Sextner Dolomiten (especially in combination with ski lessons) and next door to the ski rental Sport Kiniger. The entire ski, board, and cross-country skiing equipment is awarded.
The ski school Sexten Dolomites is located at the valley station of the Helmbahn (about 1 km) and offers professional support in the areas of skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing - both for adults and especially for children. For children there is also the possibility to receive half and full day lessons. In addition, the ski school has a state-of-the-art ski rental.
Especially our youngest can feel big at the 3 Zinnen Dolomites ski resort. At Haunold, the absolute family mountain, children's dreams come true and on various small valley ski lifts they can ski down their first slopes. Two sledging tracks on various mountains, the only reindeer herd in Italy, the imposing family of giant snowmen, and the cosy ski huts with their own kid’s menus round off the offerings available to families in the 3 Zinnen Dolomites.
